Got word my Firestorm will be in before Christmas.. couple questions
Just wondering what you guys recommend doing to it first? I ordered it basically bare / no factory upgrades (manual). I plan to get window tint and shark fin antenna first, but after that I'm not sure what's a priority. Any suggestions? Clear bra?

Drive it!
Drive it lots! Then drive it some more! Aesthetivcally I'm going to PlastiDip the wheels and look for a shark fin style antenna too. Mechanically I'm going to leave it stock for a while to learn it and run it in auto-x that way. |

Leave it stock, MAYBE go opti-coat if you feel like it, and that antenna looks cool enough I guess. Get a high capacity flash drive and load it with music, preferably a tiny one that will be out of the way. This one is compatible (I use one): [ame="http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-016G-B35/dp/B005FYNSZA"]Amazon.com: SanDisk Cruzer Fit 16 GB USB Flash Drive SDCZ33-016G-B35: Electronics[/ame]
I would grab a master cylinder brace (it's on my christmas list and I can't wait to install it on the 25th). Anyway, once you have these meager few things, GET THE BREAK IN OVER WITH! Take a weekend and go wherever Texas keeps its twistiest, turn-iest road and have some fun. You can have a ton of fun under 4000 rpm if you can find a twisty enough road. And unlike me here in WV who will be stuck on winter tires that suck by Christmas, you can run summers all year long, you lucky dog. Go enjoy them. If you've got no twisty roads, hit the track or some auto cross as soon as you have it broken in. The fun in this car comes in the turns, not in straight lines. |

A nice cosmetic touch is to put the Subaru BRZ trunk lid liner in your FR-S. It's a perfect match and takes less than 5 minutes to install.

One of the toughest challenges after your newly ordered car arrives is to not overstress yourself with every small initial flaw that your car will endure through within normal use.
I know that when my FR-S first arrived, my heart burned when I witnessed a small chip or scratch, no matter how carefully I drove and parked. Truth is that a car is meant for use, and no matter how hard one tries, the car will show signs of use over time. I can understand that there may be some solid ideas that are shared on this forum which will minimize those signs, and I'm open to completely understanding those ideas which could really help an individual. For me, after the first few flaws... I just eased myself off the stress of worrying too much... Currently, I only worry about when's the the next time I will get to drive the car, and I don't let anything get in the way of that thought. All the best, and congrats to when your FR-S arrives. ![]() (Btw, I have some family in Sugar Land... If you see me in your city with my Firestorm and track numbers on the sides, it probably means that I'm staying in your area because of a DE event @ MSR Houston )
