235 too wide for 6.5 steelie

Not for the frs but I thought I'd turn to you guys for advice.

Looking to pick up some used winters for my 2011 Sienna SE. I have 17x6.5 steelies and wondering if a 235/65/17 is too wide for the steelies?

I don't know about too wide for steelies, but definitely too wide for winter.

Yup go with stock width or less for snows, same mass of car on smaller contact patch = better snow grip (higher pounds/sq inch on road). Think of extremes to convince yourself, studs/spikes versus huge wide slicks for snow driving.
