Samsung Galaxy S3 Bluetooth help

so i recently switched from an Iphone4 which synced perfectly with my stock frs head unit. it would show info on screen streaming ipods and allow me to play/pause connect automatically with car on and off and go to next and previous tracks.it also did all that with Pandora also. minus it would only display pandora info if my phone was playing pandora when the car started or it would show nothing but it would still control the tracks and play and pause. i just got my first android after having 3 different iphones since the first one came out. i got a galaxy s3 att and the audio will play and i have some Bluetooth control; app that auto syncs when i get in the car but it wont display any info unless in Google music player. double twist and stock Samsung player and pandora wont.and none of the play pause and next or back work. it really makes me hate changing to android from iphone but i know after i fix everything to my liking an s3 should be better than a iphone5. so does anyone know how to change settings or what apps i can down loud to let me control my phone through the head unit. the calling works fine so far also anyone know how to get all my missed texts and calls to show up on the lock screen with the contact and message like the iphone does. also any one know any cheap car docks i saw the pro-clip which is nice but expensive.

The headunit is more apple friendly than android. I don't have problem with blue tooth streaming from my s2x but like you the display don't show any info. I have a 4 years old ipod touch permanently in the car for my song bank so it really doesn't matter much to me.

I haven't seen an app that would work so far so I'm sort of curious also.

I have a GS3 and it was working fine with the stock FRS headunit when I had it in. I am using Poweramp though and I am not sure if Poweramp handles bluetooth differently than other music apps. I had song info and could pause and play just fine. Not sure what is going on with yours.

I use spotify and it does the same thing. I wish it was as friendly as it was with the iPhone.

the note 2 has jelly bean and I tried running It to the hEad unit with no luck. I feel like it would be a software update with the head unit itself rather than the phones.

Newer phones have the supported technology to support the streaming meta data protocol, but it is not enabled on android phones. I have a iPhone 4 and everything works seamlessly but I'm looking to upgrade to the new lg nexus 4. I wanted to see if the information would display, so I tested out a friends samsung galaxy nexus and it didnt work. Stinks when android has come so far, but it misses some of the small things that makes iOS better.

I've noticed the same problem occasionally with my S3. It happens maybe once out of every 10 times I try to play any music. Usually when I am using the SoundCloud app. Turning the radio off and on fixes it for me. However, the other 10 times, I am able to adjust volume fine. I think that it may be conflicting with another music app on the phone. I have not had the motivation to track down the issue yet.
