Those look pisser! (really good) I definitely want to do the dash piece. I think I'm going to paint the rest of the silver plastics with Alsa Corp Ghost Chrome metallic paint. I like the silver but it just looks like painted plastic - the Ghost Chrome should make it look like metal.

You can buy real carbon sheets on eBay all day long.. Same witht the resin and clear.. There is a big difference in carbon matt, that's layer over an object then a carbon piece that's made in an autoclave... That said.. I've thought about doing this.. Problem is.. Getting everything perfectly smooth, with that factory look... I have never been able to get that finish I want... Even with sanding and polishing.. Coolness factor is a 10 with real carbon and not a wrap or fake crap like most dash kits are now a days

If we had a 3d scanner we could totally do replica pieces. Remove the part, scan it, and CNC a mold. Would probably have to do all the layups by hand in house. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner arm, and the CNC work could be expensive.

I don't think you'd have to autoclave it if you use a room temperature curing epoxy. I think the really hard part would be the mounting clips. I wouldn't want to do those in carbon unless I had to. Some sort of hybrid might be a good compromise. Cut out the mounting with a little flange, then do a carbon fiber sandwich where the clips are.

Dunno though, it's late and I really like the idea but I don't want to ADD weight with carbon fiber. Looks super cool though, thanks for the pics OP.

Edit: What if you used a vacuum bag setup over the original part? Just treat the OEM part as the mold and do the layup around it. The CF parts would be slightly larger than the OEM but it might still fit!
