Noosa Hill Climb, pics added

Hey, had a great weekend attending the Noosa Hill Climb.

The weather was a little bit ordinary saturday as the day got wetter towards the afternoon. My runs were pretty slow as its a pretty windy road with some serious concrete blocks.

Sunday morning was wet again with some cold winds. My times improved as the weather improved. By the last run it was actually starting to get dusty again.

I need to take this car to a driver training session down at Norwell to find the limits. My corner speed was way too slow. I am used to front wheel drive and its natural tendancy to understeer. I can feel the 86 has some initial understeer but have became too chicken to push past that in case I got too much oversteer.

I was really happy to finish my last run and bring my car home in one piece.

The Mini belongs to my mate who encouraged me to enter, I want to be still doing this stuff when I am 71!

I was there Saturday and Sunday (I was the guy who was talking with you on Saturday). I saw that you were faster on Sunday, but the rain hindered your progress early on.

Good to see the car got home.

Great stuff.

I love that hill climb. Was joking with a friend about it just last week.

Concrete blocks at the hairpin under the main spectator point look really big when someone misreads the notes and tells you it's flat through there.

I reckon it took some balls to drive a brand new car up there on Saturday.

Here are the results for my class. Number 162
First three times were Saturday with it raining on the last run. Sunday was wet in the morning and dry for the last two runs. Would have had it nailed by Tuesday if it didnt end Sunday!

The car in front was a suzuki swift with EVO running gear and slicks. The car behind was a 997 Porsche.

I was enjoying learing the limits without hitting the concrete blocks like some did.

Will try to find entry list and put the cars up I was running with.

This gives you an idea of what the course is like in a fast car.

This is Davids car in front of me a couple of years ago with better footage of track
