She's finally here!!!

Picked her up on Saturday and can honestly say I'm blown away with the car. I've already done a smidge over 500kms and can't wait till she is broken in and I can open her up properly.

For the moment I will be. But its hard to find the time to keep the Celica in as good a condition as I'd like. Plus parts are getting hard to come by so I'm going to have a serious think about it.

Hell yeah. The car has blown me away. So glad I waited. All I need now is it to be run in.

my way of breakin. Run it hard and no constant engine rpm speed.

Yeah I've read those articles. Frankly I'm doing my best to keep it below 4k but I have given it a couple of spurts beyond that. Sort of a mix between the two ideas lol.

Yeah. I was a bit in between. Prob a bit more on the aggressive side

Warmed it up good.
redlined a few times up until 1000km's... ( redline daily now, actually everytime i drive )
didnt punish it with low revs freeway driving..

stuck to the back streets ... and rev'd it enough to not drive like a grandma...

I have heard it before & I reckon this is good advice for a brand new engine. You're not thrashing it, it just needs full throttle acceleration for that "big-bang" as much as possible - the best way to seal those rings. If 80% of the wear-in happens within 40km then an oil change is also a great idea as is driving on back streets. Great stuff !
