Window Shattering Experience

So Friday I was driving on I405 when suddenly I heard a explosion like sound and well I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
http://sdrv.ms/ReofDB

Took it to the dealership and apparently the only reason it didn't shatter is because I had tints.

Has anyone ever experience such a thing? It was the first time but i feel like the glass shouldn't shatter this easily.

it's tempered glass, so the only way that would happen is if a piece of ceramic or something very small and sharp hit your window at high speed.

I think you are Mr. one in a million for this to happen. good thing you had tint tho.
glass shardes are a pain to clean up even with a vacuum.

Still don't know exactly what hit it, from the look of the impact point it seems to be a rock or something pretty big. If looking at the car from the outside it hit the upper right side of the window.

I worry about the damage that was caused inside the door, the window slid down about 10% into the door and i could hear all the chips in the door.
