Is 18 x 7 too narrow

I have an offer for some nice wheels, but I think they could be to narrow.

Size is 18 x 7, offset is 48

What do you think?!

Thanks for your help!!

tire choice > wheel width (of course within reason). Put on some nice summer tires and you will feel a huge difference even keeping it at 215. Moving up in width you will feel more of the road (e.g. crowns, dips, etc) and experience less avg mpg, but gain even more grip.
It really boils down to what your intent is - normal driving, spirited driving, autox, trackdays. If you intend to do autox or trackdays maybe 8" width would be better without any fitment issues.

If you want to keep the stock balance, that's fine. As the poster above stated you can increase grip significantly when you replace the crappy stock tires. I do have to admit 8" wide wheels will give you a nice range of options including the stock 215's.

What I really don't get are the folks with stock drivetrains and 9.5" wide wheels.

I've been thinking they're planning on going FI once things settle out. I've been planning on going 9" in the rear once I have some more power under the bonnet.

18x7 +48 will look the same as stock except 1 inch larger diameter and a corresponding smaller tire wall size.

For me I wouldn't really be interested in that setup as I'd be looking for a little more flush and little more tire. But if that's what you want go for it, it will fit fine.

At least when looking at the performance aspect, I agree.

But I think they do it to get a certain look.
