Piano Black interior?
I'm trying to go for a luxurious racecar feel and quite frankly, the faux cf panels feel ricey and cheap. Anyone else had knowledge on getting a piano black finish on the interior panels?
From what I know, sanding down and priming the panels will be necessary then wetsanding at 400grit between each oil based paint enamel is require. Anyone else have knowledge on this topic and would care to enlighten me? Last edited by Allankh; 10-09-2012 at 03:52 AM. Reason: Typo |

Hey mate, I get where your coming from.... but that is a big job.. perhaps look for thick vinyl wrap in a gloss black or black chrome.. they are out there.. the problem with the interior bits... I know as I have cut up a large amount of my interior to get it into race ready form.. they are polythene or polypropolate and will not sand... too soft.
If you wrap it and bugger the job then take it off no harm and no foul.. ![]() Regards 000 Racing |

Just take the pieces to a body shop and they can do a gloss black with a think clear coat on top (many layers of clear) which will get the look. Not to mention it will be a hardier finish
