CSG goes to WSIR aka "Fastest in the West" video

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yik-oAVm3U"]BRZ Willow Springs International Raceway 1:38 - YouTube[/ame]

1:38.0

Stock Suspension
Berk Technology Prototype exhaust
Berk Technology Test Pipe
Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45
Front tires: RS3 225/45/17
Rear tires: Z1 Star Spec 215/45/17
"Crash bolt" in the front
Front Alignment: -1.35 camber, 1/32" total toe-out
Rear Alignment: -1.40 camber, 0 toe

Unfortunately, I was only able to run exactly ONE hot lap, due to Mazfest having the track for their event. I still don't trust the car 100% yet, but I think a 1:35.x is possible with the same setup; I was exiting turns 1 and 9 slower than I could have, and my turn 2 line was sloppy. The Omega could have been taken flat, as well as exiting 5, and a shorter line over 6.

Just ran there today. Video is uploading now. I'll start a thread, but just wanted to comment.

I was pretty surprised that it did as well as it did, and I was totally stock.

You think you can find another 3 seconds just from driving? That'd be very neat and rewarding as a driver. In the corners you looked like you were pushing then oversteering then pushing.. you looked pretty busy on the wheel.

What did the data on the AIM SOLO say?

I was giving the car too much input (and perhaps not focusing enough on driving, as the student that was riding with me was asking questions); the sudden oversteering is from bumps in the track (turn 2) and a change in camber (turn 3, 4).

I also turned in hard in turn 1, forcing me to ultimately track out too much, covering additional distance that doesn't need to be covered, and scrubbing speed (not accelerating as much as needed).

Turn 2 can be entered flat with the current setup, with a hard turn-in scrubbing the speed instead of lifting to enter.

Turn 3 can be braked for later, and as with Turn 1, a more gradual turn-in.

Turn 4 should be flat; the mild slide will naturally take the car on the right line.

Turn 9... should be trail braked for the entry/setup, and less total braking.
