All Season Tires?

Did anyone elses FR-S come with all season tires? Mine came with what appear to be general all-season Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires. Every article I've read mentioned Michelin summer tires that didn't have enough grip. I can guarantee they have more grip than these POS Bridgestones! Curious if this is a manufacturing change for northern/semi-northern climates and we will see more of these?

I have heard of some cars getting all season tires, but this is the first I've seen one. My car is Canadian and I got the summer only Michelins. What is the production date of your car? Bridgestone makes some really good tires...the EL400 is not one of them. I'd be feeling kind of gypped.

^Same here. Canadian and got the summer only. If they threw all seasons on the car anywhere, it'd be here.

The colder climates started shipping with all-seasons. Mine came with the same tire.

There was a thread a couple of months ago where they also had Bridgestone all seasons. My guess is if/when there is a supply interruption, this is the backup model at the factory. People were speculating that this tire was supplied for leased vehicles in the north since lesees are less likely to buy a set of snows. I highly doubt that was correct.

Thanks all... Thought it was weird to have a non-performance all season put on given the intent of this car.

Lol, And yes, I do need summer tires now it was 70+ degrees today and I won't be driving in snow this winter. Its a forum, I had a question, started a thread, because I was curious how widespread this is. The change was not published as far as I can tell.

I thought the car came with a version of the Japanese Prius tire? Is THAT tire considered a summer tire? I thought it was an all-season.

i didn't know they even offered these!..i tried to get the dealer to take the michelins, and give me "cheaper" all seasons instead! thy wouldn't do it,but they wanted to sell me a set at their cost! screw that! i'll just buy dedicated snows and be done with it!

My car came with Micheliin Primacy HP. Being that I'm in southern Arizona I am happy.

I also received my FRS with the above mentioned Bridgestone tires. I was wondering if the recommended tire pressure of 35 psi still applies to these Bridgestones? The dealership had my tires inflated to 28 psi.

It's a factory option. Some of my cars have them. I would suggest getting them if your doing a special order and have to wait. Living in So Cal we don't get a bunch of weather, but I heard the stock tires not so flash.

Most of the southern dealers all have the Michelin HP summer tires because we don't see snow. Even if we do, it melts when it hits the ground!

I plan on burning down these tires a bit before jumping to better tires. No sense in ruining a brand new set unless you're hellbent on wanting new tires for performance reasons, which is a very viable reason if you've got the money.
