Rear License Plate Scratch
Saw this happened to someone else so I checked to see if mine was scratching the car. Sure enough, there is a big long scratch where the license plate rests. What should I do?

I used some double sided tape that comes with the command series of hooks. They are made to remove easy without any damage. This way the plate is not touching the paint and it does not flop around.

My license plate "frame" was touching the paint, so I took it off. My license plate itself does not touch the paint.

Thanks for the tips y'all. Quick question...Any y'all have a problem with the screws for the rear license plate holder? My screws don't seem to screw all the way flush. I don't have my plates yet as my FR-S is 10 days old. Could that be a reason?

You should adhere the foam to the car. If you attach it to the plate, dirt can get caught between the foam and your car, and still scratch it.

use rubber in an X or O shape with slits for drainage for water that gets behind plate, instead of foam, it wont trap dirt = trapping moisture= rust years later

Put electrical tape on the bottom and sides of your license plate. Used this technique for years
