Windshield scratching too easy?

Anyone else having this issue?

I am very meticulous with cleaning my FR-S and my windshield is scratched HORRIBLY. Every time you wipe it with anything, even if it's free of debris, I'm left with these scratches like it's effing Lexan.

Would this be covered under warranty? Driving around with any light out is rough on my eyes because I'm staring through these reflective scratches all over.

I've noticed this as well to a certain degree. I see it most when I pass under a street light at night. For years I have been using ultra fine steel wool to clean bugs off the windshield on various cars (it is an old bodyshop trick for cleaning overspray off glass). It has never been a problem with any other car, but this one showed very faint marks after only a couple of uses. Weird... glass is harder than steel wool and shouldn't show any marks. I have since switched to using a clay bar and detail spray (for paint). This works well.
