Timing issue after changing all timing components

I wanted to reach out and ask to see if any of you have any advice on a FA20 motor.
I just replaced all cam sprockets, timing chains, tensioners and guides.
I am Taking logs with ECUtek all VVT Angles are at 0 except for one exhaust cam, it hovers around 12-13.9 degrees till vvt kicks on. Once vvt enables they all are within spec. I have a code pop up (p0019). When the p0019 code pops up vvt turns back off and I believe it is in limp mode and all cams hover around 0 degrees. Does it sound to be one tooth off? Before I tear back into it.

Yes. Quit running the engine before the ECU adjusts the initial position value too far out of whack. The ECU only adjusts one way and won't be able to find its way back if it's gone too far. It goes through a calibration cycle each time the engine is started.

ecutek can provide a stock base rom with vvt checks disabled eventually
it s dangerous if the timing chains are misaligned but if everything is in place, that rom helps as it turns vvt immediately on and can help relearn new initial values
actually i m running such a tune for 1 year, just lazy waiting for it to activate as i reflash often

Interesting! If only the same tweak could be performed on an open rom. Always a pleasure to hear your perspective.

I’ve actually heard from some other Subaru guys that some scanners like Autel can put the ECU in a test mode that allows it to relearn the IPV’s.
