2nd Gen OEM Lug Nut Question - Quest to Simplify
Are the OEM lug nuts for the 2nd gen 60 degree conical like the first gen?
I've been digging around and found pretty conclusive info on my question for the 1st gen wheels, but nothing on 2nd Gen. I wasn't sure if this was because it wasn't really discussed, or if it is because it's a standard spec across all Subies and I'm an ingorant newbie to the brand. Right now I'm frequently swapping between my autocross wheels and my OEM set for daily use. For autocross, I'm running a set of Enkei PF01's which came with a nice set of spline lug nuts. Not only only do I like how easy it is to use the spline lug nuts, but they are also a bit longer which makes them easier to manipulate in seat recessed into the wheel design. The stubby little OEM nuts in the OEM Limited wheels are a pain to get started by hand. Right now, when swapping wheels it's a pain. Two sets of lug nuts, two different sockets, and the adapter key for the spline nuts. I'd really like to just use the spline nuts provided with the Enkei wheels for everything if they will seat properly to the OEM wheel. I'm not concerned with cosmetics and figured there was no point in buying a new set of lug nuts if I have a perfectly good set on hand which will do the trick. Any advice? I'm not interested in the longer open ended ones as these will be used in a daily environment, but would entertain a good set of quality steel closed nuts if they are a longer profile and would work on both sets of wheels. |

Yes, the stock 2nd gen lug nuts are also 60 degree conical seat, so your SplineDrive lug nuts will work on the OEM wheels.

That's great news. Thanks!
I looked at them side-by-side and thought they might work, but wanted something other than my eyes to help make the decision. |
