Waxing too soon?
I was going to pick up my car, minus the dealer wash and take it right to a detailer.
Should I have it detailed right away, and get a wax job, or "let the paint bake"? |

Considering your car was built months ago, and then took at least 3 weeks to be shipped across the ocean You will be fine waxing it.

Wax it now. Feel the paint and if it desn't feel slick, it should be waxed. I waxed mine the day after I got it.

I wouldn't wax the car period. EVERY person I know that waxes their car regularly has developed clear coat issues that crop up within a couple of years of ownership.
I've never waxed any on my cars, and I've driven a couple to 150k+ miles, and I've never had a clear coat issue anywhere on the car. |

I am not a wax expert so this is just a rumor I heard, but I heard you should wait a few month to wax. I guess the clear coat outgasses and hardens for the 1st several months. Waxing does not allow it to cure properly.
It might be total BS, but it is a good excuse to not wax for a while. |

Wash, clay, seal, wax - waxing every couple weeks may be excessive. Not there is anything wrong with being OCD! Reapplying wax every couple months, especially over the sealant, will be fine. Quote:
