Brake pad thickness checker

Sometimes I don't want to pull the wheel off just get an idea about my pad thickness. I made this device for a quick and dirty check. Hook one wire to the backing plate, push the other to the rotor. Carefully remove and you know how much pad is left.

I'm sure there will be a spike in sales now that this device is out there. Best invention since the reservoir tipped condom. IMHO.

I have a similar caliper and yes, it would work but, you have to know the thickness of the backing plate. Then, you get into all those derivatives.
