Correct Tire Sizing Help
I have 18x10.5 in the rear and 18x9.5 in front. I'm having the issues of ordering tires through my company but can find 275/35/18 for the front and 295/30/18 is the different aspect ration going to cause issues? I did a calculator but am not sure if the difference is reasonable or not. Or a better question might be what sizes will cause the least issues with this setup?

What offset are the wheels? What suspension setup?
275/35-18 are significantly taller than stock at 25.6" (stock = 24.7" diameter). 295/30-18 are only a bit taller than stock at 25.0" (but obviously a LOT wider). Not gonna vouch for fitment, but you'd have an easier time with sizes like 245/35-18 front (24.8") and 265/35-18 (25.3") rear... Last edited by ZDan; 06-14-2022 at 05:46 PM. |

There is always a compromise around those sizes with only 1" difference between front and rear because you need 25mm wider tire to get the same sidewall bulge/stretch BUT you need 40mm difference to get the same tire outer diameter (eg. 255/35R18 and 295/30R18 are same diameter).
A good compromise is a 30mm split like: 255/35R18 F 285/30R18 R or: 265/35R18 F 295/30R18 R The 255/285 combo is closer to the correct diameter and a better fit for the rim widths. That's what I'd be running. Last edited by bradsm87; 06-16-2022 at 07:59 PM. |
