Choosing coilovers gen1 vs gen2
Didn’t see a thread for it so here we are.
I see HKS and maybe a few others came out with a ‘22 specific coilover set. Comparing spring rates and car weights it hasn’t changed so does anyone have a legitimate argument why I wouldn’t want to get a gen1 set to use aside from “new product improvements over our previous”. I cannot think of any. |

The motion ratio in the rear is different with the new stock RLCAs. The same spring rate on a gen. 2 car will behave as if it was stiffer, and the damping curve might go a little off too. You should be able to use gen. 1 aftermarket RLCAs to compensate for that.
