Hey guys,
The standard break pads for the 86 make the rotors go orange from the brake dust etc... If you replace the brake pads with something better, will it stop this orange build-up? |

The rotors go orange from rust/oxidation, not from pad dust (which is usually black). Usually more noticeable just after you wash your car. There are various pads which have low(er) dust, but what is right for you will depend on your driving style and whether you plan to track or not.

To the best of my knowledge the only rotors that are not cast iron now days are carbon ceramic.

Bendex makes a good everyday pad however u cannot use it for track, they arnt designed for prolonged smashing, however ur everyday drive to work or wherever should be great, i cant remember what they are made off but they have "less dust" when used, maybe just paint ur calipers black? However also not sure if they have pads for the 86 yet...

(Slightly OT from the rotor focus, but hopefully useful... the GTS wheels are a good colour for not showing the dust.)

Yes, it is oxidation and there is nothing you can do on the actual surface of the rotors except for using the brakes which will scrape off the surface oxidation. It happens on all cars so I wouldn't worry. For aesthetic purposes you can paint the rotor hat so it won't rust as well.
