Oil temps/pressure after installing blitz oil cooler
Hi all, I recently installed the blitz br oil cooler kit (https://www.blitz.co.jp/products/coo...cooler_br.html) and from what I can tell it seems like my oil pressure might be a bit high.
So far I have only done back and forth high way traveling. my oil temp stays at around 80 degrees C, and when I push the car it only gets as high as 92 degrees C. When driving at 2-2.5k rpm the oil pressure rests around 400-480kpa. At 3k-3.5k the pressure jumps up to 600-680kpa. Idle is 100 kpa, redline is about 850kpa. The pressure will go down at those rpms when I get the oil warmed up to 90 degrees, I don't think there is a problem with the system but I am wondering, are those pressure safe to drive at? Also, I am tracking the oil temp and pressure with the jdm trd oil pressure and oil temp sensor/gauges that I installed into the oil sandwich plate. Oil temp is being recorded before oil gets into the oil cooler, and oil pressure is being recorded on the top of the plate right under the oil filter (after oil goes through the cooler when thermostat plate is closed). I am also running royal purple engine oil. |

I wouldn't be concerned about high pressures. Those engines have some crazy pressures when the oil is cold and stuff. It's only a coven if it gets too low IMO. Especially since you're using a pre engineered cooler from a respectable company

No way are those pressures are at operating temp. Those sound like cold pressures.

sound pretty normal to me
I converted some of your numbers to F and psi and they sound normal. My idle psi is 12.5 and yours is 14.5 psi-the 2 pound difference is due to your cooler.
