Coolant in cylinders - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

So as stated in the title, I installed an edelbrock supercharger on my frs and I accidently hooked up a coolant line on one of the vacuum lines on the intake... Does anyone have some recommendations on how to remove that coolant?

How much is in there? Pull your spark plugs and crank it. If there isn't much then just crank it. You can use a ratchet to turn it over, which would be safer on your valves in case there is more than expected

Yes try and turn it over a few time by hand if it turns over you could use the starter afterwards. But if it hydraulic locks and won`t turn remove plugs and then use starter to clear it. It`s not the valves that will get damaged, the bearings and mainly connecting rods are at risk.

Pull plugs.

Crank while holding down the gas pedal fully, this shuts off the injectors.

Reinstall plugs.

I wouldn't try turning it over it there is anything potentially in the cylinders with the plugs in.

There's alot in there I'd say... I tried to start it maybe for at least 2 minutes straight.

I'm going to try this right now, hopefully this fixes it. Do you think I got any coolant in my oil?

Likely not and even if you did. It will evaporate off.

If there was a lot and you cranked it for that long you would have heard some very scary noises.

I just finished up today, I didn't even need to crank the car, the coolant was mostly in the supercharger, I took it off and drained the inside and then reconnected everything and it kicked on a little rough for the first couple minutes now we are fine. Thanks for the help everyone

Even if mostly in the SC check the oil. If it is discoloured at all change it.

I'd take it a step further. Oil's cheap. Just change it.
