Icon Rocklear

Hi, recently got a bunch of these facebook ads advertising this stuff. According to their website it's been out for 5 years but i haven't heard of it nor able to pull up any reputable review. Seems to promise the world - scratch/minor impact resistance, thicker coat so no need to paint correct before application, etc. for same cost of ceramic coating. Anyone ever use this stuff or is it a sham product? we have a single local shop that offer this product and apparently it's guaranteed for 10years +

My car is already ceramic coated but there were some minor swirls on my spoiler before application and i don't think they fixed those before application.

seems oddly marketed specifically to dealers/resellers. i can't say anything about this specific product, but my experience of similar dealer-only marketing is that it generally doesn't last all that long, because it really only needs to last long enough to sell the vehicle to the next schmuck that can get approved for financing.

i loved how car brite's Phaze Glaze worked on diminishing scratches, and it made glass bead water better than any water repellent i've used so far. but i never got it to last much longer than 3-6 months.

Never knew it was marketed heavily to dealerships. I have not even heard of the product until this past weekend. What about the long guarantee/warranty period they offer? If the coating stops beading or has other issues can't you take it back and have them reapply?

straight off their site:
Quote:
GUARANTEE
All Icon Rocklear services are backed by an available Rocksolid lifetime warranty underwritten by a world-recognized insurance company. Undeniable peace of mind and satisfaction are guaranteed when you choose Icon Rocklear with Toughlon coating.
i can't seem to find any other information on their site about the warranty outside of that small statement, and a registration page.

maybe it's accurate, maybe not, but my mind turns to 'state minimum' insurance. that's sometimes backed by "a world-recognized insurance company". like when one of their drivers ran into my buddies legally-parked truck, and then figured out ways to make it his 'fault'...
