Relocated my brake light

I like the looks soooo much better. I used a Geeon LED Strip from Amazon and wired it to the factory plug.

Yeah, roof brake lights look a lot better imo. This is why I have one as well.

They should have done it that way from the factory. I also took out the stupid child seat brackets. At some point I want to do a rear seat delete.

I also wanted to do something like this but anything I tried was looking bad at day time. There is nothing like OEM look. Actually there is something for over 100 (at speedfactory) but that is really big.

It looks big, but not as big as you think.

As you can see, it's a simple line and for rear driver, it doesn't blind em, but enough to be aware of the light.

Here's the closer look

You can't see mine in the day until I hit the brakes. The led strip is super thin and black as well.

Install was super easy ordered the red Geeon LED strip comes in a 4-pack $14.99 and shipping is free with Amazon prime. Simply stuck it to the top lip of the headliner and also used three small black zip-ties. Had to take a small ice pick and punch the holes for the zip-ties. Then ran the wires under the headliner and down the drivers side rear pillar into the trunk, unplugged the factory brake light, cut off the plug going to the third brake light and wired it to the led srip thats it.

Well almost of course you now have to take out the old brake light and plug the holes. I used this video to figure out how to install just used my method.

The Intec High Mount was the one I considered.

I am not sure how it will look at day time from outside but inside look is a little too much for my taste.

Otherwise it’s a good unit.

Thanks

Yeah thats why I like mine can't see it from outside until I hit the brakes inside you can't even see it unless your in the back seat and look closely. Rearview mirror is totally a clear view.

Since I have also a rear cam something like this will fit better. I can always relocate the camera but like it better to be closer to the top.

I'm guessing that this light placement slightly improves rear visibility. Either way, it looks great. Kinda wanting to do it, and maybe do some 14R60 rear center exhaust. Good job!
