BRZ from Maine to Texas

Howdy! My name is Cory. Similar to speedrace38's cross country trip to get his BRZ, I kinda of did the same. Went to Maine to pick it up and bring it back to Texas. Here are some links to the photo album from the trip, youtube vids, and the full write up from NASIOC. If you guys don't have much else to do today, check 'em out and let me know what yall think!

Glad to be a part of the club now!

Congrats, Cory! Sounds like you and your brother had a great adventure driving home. I am getting a car just like yours soon and will be driving back to Texas from a dealer in So. Carolina! Anyway, enjoyed the videos of the tail, all the great pics and narrative!!! Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy that new BRZ!!!

Great road trip!

My BRZ was pulled of the truck in CO yesterday. I will be heading for the Rockies soon. It's no Dragon, but maybe I'll find something.

Looks like an epic road trip. Congrats. Did you stop at any of the stores for stickers? I got a CF sticker for my car when I went through there.

TheRipler, Are you buying from Heuberger by chance? I have one on order from them and am considering driving it back home to CA for a similar roadtrip... and thinking of taking it up to Pike's Peak before heading home. It's no Dragon, but it's perhaps just as epic.

Mine is at Shortline.

There are tons of choices for roads in CO. Even I-70 is pretty fun across the continental divide, for an interstate. I haven't decided the way back to TX yet, but it will be a little longer than the way up.

Been thinking about doing this. My plan is nearly identical except use BRP to get down and end in Dallas. Two questions
1) How was the buying process given the distance and separation?
2) How did you find the car? I'm in Texas also and it is easy to call local dealerships but how did you know where to start when you were looking out of state?

Awesome! Are you going to be able to make a mini-vacation out of it? Or having to drive straight back?

The buying process was actually pretty easy. We talked over the phone and email to work out the deals and financing. Evergreen Subaru was very cordial to work with.
I basically used cars.com, classifieds.com, autotrade.com, etc to search for the cars. Cars.com seemed to be the better site to get phone numbers off of. Then, I'd call the dealership to see if it was available or already reserved. Nearly every phone call came back as a reserved car that hadn't even shown up on the lot yet. I started asking "do you have one available right now?" instead of "do you have one on the lot?" or "are you expecting any?" Easiest to just ask the final question first.

Going to take a day or two extra so I can take it easy. Really looking forward to it.
