Swap TRD (Limited) LED dash gauge cluster into base 2017?

I’ve found limited info on this, only one thread talks about swapping it into a 2015.

I have a 2017 base model. Does the Limited /Trs Gauge cluster plug right in?

If so, has anybody done it? We’re you able to set the mileage using tech stream or any other way? The 2015 thread indicated it could be programmed.

Any help is appreciated, I really wanted the TRD model but don’t want black paint, wish they would have opened up the options!

By the time you went through the cost and hassle of changing it you may as well have just traded it in for one with the display.

ehhh, seems like a pretty easy swap from what people are saying.

Only thing that's kind of dippy is the control panel being made that goes in the center console's blank space. Doesn't look very factory.

Got to buy one first and it would need to be new and programed. That is not going to be cheap.
If you change the cluster for a used one you need to deal with the security coding between the cluster, immobilizer and ECU. It is not a simple swap and go.

Still way cheaper than trading it in for one with the cluster, lol. The things you're talking about have already been solved. Someone pioneered it and did it.

yup super simple....
Just as simple as Toyota could have given the 86 more power!

Just that simple!

Nothing is ever that simple......

I wouldn't personally do the cluster swap, but I have seen it done, there are multiple threads on it, and it seems relatively easy. People are out here figuring out canbus systems, figuring out e85 compatibility and full auto tuning. Let alone figuring out stock gauge and dash systems with engine swaps.

Why would a cluster swap with the same plug and a proven way to do it not be in the realm of cheap when the other option is trade the car in, lol.
