Exhaust installation

Hi all,
I was trying to install my new catback system, I was just wondering whether it is ok to remove the donut gasket that is on the stock front pipe so that my new midpipe actually fits on.

Photos shown too, thanks!

I'm not sure what brand yours is, but the Perrin exhaust has you replace it with the included flat gasket (Step 4)

Did you actually buy a catback that uses the stock donut gasket style?
Or buy one that has a flat gasket?
