Perils of ground hugging

I recently realized that the FR-S has made me a lot more cautious at corners. The problem is that the car is so low that I can't see traffic coming from the left side as easily as when I am driving even slightly taller cars. Anything blocking the left hand view - a car, a mailbox, even a wooly caterpillar will block the view.

Anyone else notice this?

You can't see over things, because you are lower than everything else on the road. Its like that on any low vehicle.

It's not a problem - it just requires an adjustment. The advantage of riding low outweighs the disadvantages.

The tallest car I've ever owned was a mazdaspeed 3... so I haven't noticed any issues. Anything beats an exige with an engine and intercooler encompassing your entire rear view.

I have that problem in my lowered Celica-- just don't turn until you're absolutely sure you're clear, even if it takes you a minute or two.

On a positive note this will indirectly keep your insurance rates low!

I had so much seat time in the FR-S over the last weekend that when I got in my Corolla Monday morning, I felt like I was sitting on a bar stool...

I know how you feel... I got my FR-S a month ago and really haven't paid much attention to the Mustang since then. When I got in the Mustang for a cruise on the weekend, it felt like I was driving a tractor (a really fast tractor, but a tractor none the less).
