Other options for FRS turn signal bulb base?

Hellloooo,

I'm in the middle of swapping a 2017 BRZ bumper onto my 2014 FRS. The turn signals for the FRS are by themselves in the bumper and the BRZ turn signals are built into the headlights.

I bought the fog light housing for the new bumper and am trying to figure out the best plan of attack for using the FRS bulbs within the new BRZ fog light housing.

The FRS amber bulbs fit into the hole for the new housing, but the BASE of the bulb barely (lots of force) goes in. I know there are replacement bulbs available, but the bulbs themselves are fine. Its the grey plastic peice that the bulbs snap into that I'm having problems with.

I've tried lots of googling, but can seem to find another base that has the 3 prong type. Does anyone know of other options?

Thank you,
CN

So, you are turning your fog lights into turn signals? Ok, there are several ways of doing this.

Get an amber cover for the fog light.

Get a amber bulb that fits in the base that fits in the fog housing.

Hack all the parts up you have and glue them together. Even though this may save you a couple dollars now, not doing this will save you frustration down the road.

EDIT: The bulb bases are expensive. The ones I found cost more than a set of amber bulbs; which defeats the whole idea...

I speak from experience.

Hi All,

I just wanted to share what I found..so I was able to find another base:

But then I realized that its going to have the same issue as the stock bulb harness - It just can't get any smaller. So the problem is with the housing itself. The damn hole is too small. I'm going to try to shave it a bit wider.
