2017 BRZ Mud Guard Compatibility
Hey guys, I'm guessing these will also work with the BRZ, but I want to ensure there are no small differences that will create an installation issue:
These are the Toyota OEM 2017+ 86 guards: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/toyo...l#.W_sQZuhKhPY |

There have been a couple mentions on here of the 86 having some small differences in mounting points, though the discussion was usually centering on aftermarket mud flaps rather than those OEM parts so I don't know if it will affect your install.

2017 86 has different rear bumper from other models.
You need -2017 mud flaps for all other bumpers. |

Does anyone have a link to suitable guards for a 2017+ BRZ? My search is failing me.

These are the earlier version that fit 2013-2016 BRZ. I can't tell you for sure if they fit the 2017 BRZ but if you post a picture of the mounting area we could probably figure it out. Or call FT86 SF.

The rear shape of the bumpers changed a little but the wheel well areas are still the same. Anything that fit before still will. The only monkey wrench is if you have skirts but then nothing fits any year anyway.

Wheel wells did not change on any of the cars. The changes to the bumper shape are above where the mud flaps attach.

"Be aware installation requires drilling holes, and the 2017 86 actually required more holes drilled than the older models." I don't know if this guy is right or not but it seems like it's possibly not exactly the same, especially since FT86SF carries the two different SKUs for 13-16 and 17+. From the pictures they look practically the same, though it could just be because they switched from Scion to Toyota.I'm just saying that for certain I know the old Scion ones fit the 17+ BRZ. The 13-16 ones are cheaper anyways so just go with those. |
