Exhaust problems
Hello all, this is my first post here but I needed to find an answer to a problem that I ran into installing some exhaust parts.
To begin I am new to modding vehicles and this is my first foray into mods. I decided to start with exhaust on my 2014 BRZ. I purchased Borla header, JDL front pipe/over pipe combo, and a Greddy catback exhaust system. Everything was going fine and honestly everything *is* fine except the connection between the front pipe and the Greddy midpipe. The donut gasket on the front pipe does not fit appropriately into the Greddy pipe and is the only problem I am having. If not for that simple little issue, I would be done with the work. Do I need to cut the donut off? The Greddy catback came with 3 gaskets and it has 3 connections that those gaskets can be used on. It even suggests using a donut on the midpipe but the donut on the JDL pipe does not want to fit. So here is where I am. One connection, one problem, and I need a solution. |

Did you tighten them from headers back in order? You can try loosening bolts and then try fitting the problem portion.
You can buy thicker gaskets just for issues like that (idk how big your gap is). And it's possible they just don't fit up. I usually just finagle the pieces by loosebing bolts and giving it some oomph before tightening the bolts. That's all I got, sorry. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

The donut gasket isn't meant to fit into the pipe completely, you should have bolts with springs that keep the front pipe donut gasket securely against the midpipe.
