Impreza top hots???
Just got a set of tein street basis z coil overs, they require you to use your own top hats. I have a friend who would be willing to sell me his camber plates off of his 2002 wrx but he does not want to take them apart if the won't work. I'd prefer to save some and buy his if I could instead of waiting for new one to ship to me. Does anyone know if they're interchangeable like forester and impreza suspension?

I forget the year crossover, but our upper mounts are 100% compatible with some year range WRX's. I'm running the STI Group N mounts on my car up front.

Make sure you look up which model years work... not sure if a 2002 is compatible.

He's wanting to get camber plates from his friends' 2002 WRX and looking to know if they work for FRS/BRZ.

Oh. Should be more careful with reading.
Well, if going by that japanparts listing:
I guess it might be not so well interchangeable with rear top mounts, as our have two bolt mounts, but many subies of that time IIRC had three bolt ones, and of more shapes/sizes. |

Yes older Subaru had rear strut suspension, not multi link, so they needed the third bolt... Also meant that they could use rear camber plates to get it aligned, although it looks like bolts and lcas were easier.
Just interesting for people like me who didn't know much about older Subarus. |

It's funny, everybody wanted pink STI parts all over their car back in those days.
To the OP, just be sure to check the camber plates for play in the bearing before putting them on. Remember camber plates aren't necessarily the best choice for every driver. - Andrew |

The following cars use the same oem front top mounts that are the same pattern as the BRZ:
90-04 Legacy /outback 93-07 Impreza 98-08 Forester After those last years, the top hats got bigger in overall diameter. Front mounts (and front only) from all those cars should bolt into the chassis and fit the strut, however there is one thing that differs and that's the rotation of the holes in the strut tower. Going from, say, 1st gen to 2nd gen impreza (93-01 vs 02-07), the tops are rotated differently. So they could end up like this depending on what the mounts came from: Which is actually not always a bad thing because usually you don't need the plate all the way to the max negative camber setting and having them at an angle lets you add caster too. When I install coilovers/camber plates I almost always put them in at an angle for extra caster, set the adjustment all the way in and back, and fix cross camber at the lower bolt. |

The 02-07 Upper mount will work. Make sure it is a spherical bearing type since the strut angle is far different on this chassis. It will eat a standard bearing up that hasn't had it's angle adjusted in a few thousand miles.
Camber plates that are designed for this chassis are based off the stock strut angle and will work better than a GD/GG part. |

Is the OEM frs/brz top directional and/or is the bearing set at an angle? |
