Tire Stretching? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Anyone know where I can get tires stretched? I would like to go from 245 down to 235 or 225 on my wheels. Wheels are 11" wide.. If anyone knows of anywhere that can do it near Livermore/Pleasanton/Dublin area that would be great. Willing to go further if no one around here can do it. thanks

Max and I went to AVN tire in Alameda, far but worth it. They are quick and are known for being able to stretch tires

No, you can't change diameter with a stretch.

It's possible. Just use a sharp knife to notch the outside of the sidewall, then itll fold out giving enough clearance to fit the 18s. But you need to do some math because now the sidewall gets added to the tread width so you need a narrow 17 tire to run on a wide 18 wheel

Its actually better if you compress the wheel to fit the tires. It makes the wheel denser and stronger.

You guys are rookies. It's all about sizing down 18" diameter tires onto a 17" wheel.
