CEL,traction control and ABS sensor light up after I broke my Abs speed sensor?

so last night I was changing my rear driver wheel bearing assembly and forgot to remove the abs speed sensor(in short I broke it) I know for sure to get the ABS sensor light on because of that so my question is
* why my Check engine light and traction control alsi light up?
* and if I just replace a new Abs speed sensor, will it be resolve the issue?
* what to do after replacing the broken abs sensor?
- I never touch anything other than the rear driver wheel (rotor, break pads, hub assembly, etc)

Well, first off .. that's fer not payen attention and busten the wheel speed sensor.

Secondly, I'd suggest you just replace the wheel speed sensor and see if that "fixes" everything. After that, if you still get a code, clear it and see if it comes back. You may have to disconnect the battery for a spell to clear the code.

The car is telling you it is broke so you will get all the lights.
It will also be in "limp mode" so your cruise will not work and your revs will be restricted.
Just replace the sensor and all will be good.
Like said you will probably have to unhook the battery for a reset. This will make the car seem to run strange until it relearns.

To put it simply, modern vehicles have many interconnected systems. Traction control relies on your wheel speed sensors to function properly (as well as the ABS itself to brake individual wheels.) The traction control light is to indicate that the system is now disabled due to the ABS fault. The CEL is on because multiple vehicle systems are now disabled, and the CEL is the overall light that illuminates when something is wrong.

Replacing the ABS sensor should resolve the issue. You shouldn't need to do anything other than drive the car for a bit after replacing it. Worst case, you might need to clear the codes (if you don't have a scan tool, just disconnect the battery for a minute.)

thanks for the input. just wondering if it's fine to drive the car while on limp mode since we know what the issue is?.coz I know the limp mode makes the car restricted to avoid further damage ( but since I know whats just the problem)

thanks, will order the parts ASAP, just wondering if I can still able to drive the car while on limp mode?.I know its doing that to stop any future issue but since we retracted the only main reason of the limp mode, can I still use it?.thanks

Sure. Nothing will explode. Your ABS, and other driver aids will not be functional, so keep that in mind. Drive cautiously until you have it fixed.

You might consider pulling one of the ABS fuses in the meantime to fully disable it. I've seen weird stuff happen as a result of damaged sensors (ABS coming on when it wasn't supposed to, which significantly increased stopping distance, for example.)

Well, I would suggest that you NOT drive the car until the brakes are fixed. If it's absolutely necessary to drive the car, drive very carefully and get familiar with using your emergency brake ..

Back in the day, when we had only a single cylinder braking system and we pushed the brake pedal to the floor .. and it just stayed there, we learned how to rev match/downshift and pull on the emergency brake … all at the same time, as you looked for a soft spot in the ditch.

(that outta convince you to keep er off the road)

Yes, you pump and modulate the brakes. A wise person drives below the limits of adhesion.

My last house had a steep 1/4 mile long driveway. When it snowed, I would pull the ABS fused to pile snow in front of the tires to stop. With the ABS engaged, you could either stay below the 3mph threshold or pitch the car sideways to stop. If the ABs engaged, your speed would pretty much double but it was a 20% grade in the steepest part.

Not a fan.

Well, I'm glad that technique works for you.

However, for 99% of us, I believe ABS is quite beneficial.

Normal for traction light to come on, I can explain in detail but basically the traction system is "ABS" while driving. Ex, if your car detects slip it will brake certain wheel(s) to maintain control with traction control on.

Not sure why CEL is on buy most likely related.

Replace wheel speed sensor and car should be fine to go right away.
