So I just finished installing RCE yellows tonight. Test drive went great. However just on a hunch I looked at the rear springs and noticed the text on the springs is upside down. Does the rear spring direction matter?

I wouldn't think it would make any difference. However, you may wish to call their tech line to make sure.

Yes there’s writing on the spring that should be right side up. RCE has “dead springs” at the bottom of the spring itself.

I talked to racecomp engineering and they said that I had them upside down and I had to rotate them around, however the short stack gets put on the top that way but this also aligns with their pictures in the instructions. Also there is nothing that says which direction on the spring it should go regardless

My last question is this springs are a symmetrical, meaning the left one when looking from above us exactly like the right one - they’re not mirror images so which way do I rotate the assembly? Do I keep them both pointed the same direction so the lower pigtails point the same way or do I turn one 180 grease out. Or does it even matter.

You want the spring pig tail 5mm from the indentation on the lower spring perch, and it doesn’t matter how the spring sits in the upper spring perch.

That’s weird your springs don’t say L or R on them, if they both look identical I don’t think it matters which side they go on.

5mm? I guess that makes sense, allows them to move I guess and not bind. It didn’t say that in the instructions; and I’ve never done that on any other set of springs I have installed before; oh well I guess I’ll have to see if there are any issues in my the future since it’s all installed and online now.

As long as they fit into the spring perches properly it doesn't matter. But I feel like it might not be in the lower perch on the strut quite right?

Our main concern is the springs not aligning perfectly in the perches. The text on the spring should be right side up.

Left spring and right spring are identical.

I guess for ones not reading instructions it simpler is to lessen misinstallation cases with something clear to see, like stickers on springs with arrows pointing up, for installation direction

Post installation:

No noises. Sharper transients in steering. Ride just a tad stiffer than stock. Alignment shop could get everything to spec but rear camber. Only 1/2 a degree more camber than stock, so no biggie.

Drop doesn’t “look” dropped, but like it should have come from the factory. Just what I wanted.
