What options come on the 2018 Limited?
Hi guys, new here.
So I went to the Subaru dealer and asked them to give me a price for a new BRZ 2018 with every option. He came back at me with a list of options but not including the Performance Package that is listed on the Subaru website. He said that not all the models come with every option listed on the website. So my question is, is this true? I really want a BRZ Limited with the performance package, the Brembo brakes, the STI front spoiler and side skirts. But from what I was quoted it seems like the performance package is only for the TS version or what? Should I go to another dealer and ask? The list the dealer gave me was from www.subarusolutions.com which needs a login so I assume its a dealer only site. Last edited by Mase123y; 05-13-2018 at 05:46 PM. |

There's s Limited and Limited with PP. tS is a whole different thing.
Option wise, just because you have a PP doesn't mean you get all the sti parts. Those are extra, and vice-versa. Eithey they don't have it, don't know what they're talking about or they're trying to fool you. Or you didn't specify you want PP. Who knows. You might just need to build your own from the website.

Can the STI aero parts be added on from the factory or do I need to order them separately and have the dealer install them?

Add-ons are typically port or dealer installed. It’s not rocket science installing aero parts, I wouldn’t worry about them not being factory installed.

Why not just tell them exactly what you want instead?

Well the first dealer said that not all accessories can be added to all models of the car so I'm just trying to get some more info for the next dealer I talk to. And yea, I'm gonna ask the next dealer to add all the items I want and see what they say.

Im curious that when I use the website to build the car, if I choose an automatic transmission vs a manual transmission the performance package goes away and it cant be chosen. Is that the way its supposed to be?

Yes, the performance pack is only available with a manual. I guess they figure that most people who want the best performance will opt for a manual anyway. With an automatic, you also lose the small power bump (5 less hp and torque) and shorter final drive ratio that started with the 2017 manual models.

It sounds like you’re dealing with someone who doesn’t really sell a lot of BRz’s (Can’t really blame them though right?) so I can see how they’d get confused and ultimately confuse.
First, to clarify...”Options/ Options Package” should refer to features that can only be added to the standard trim level at the factory, before the car is even finished being built. Accessories, on the other hand, should refer to additional items that can be installed by yourself or at the dealership. What you really want to communicate to them is that you’d like the BRZ in the Limited trim level. Next tell them you want the Option Package #2, which is the Performance Package. The retail model code for this car is “JZE-02” the J means 2018. The Z means BRZ, the E means manual transmission, and the -02 means Performance Package. Everything else beyond what’s standard on the Limited and the Performance Package will need to be added. These are the accessories. This means the STi Lip kit (front, side). These can be purchased and added to your loan (if financed), but the main point is that it will be purchased at the time you buy the car and installed in the near future.

Hm why would the performance package only be available on the manual? Isnt it just tires, rims, brakes and dampeners or something? All of which have nothing to do with the transmission.
