Formula One experience for kids

I have a friend who wants to do something really special for her 10 year old boy - he loves F1 racing. Any ideas? I know there are several F1 tour companies around, just wondering if any one is better than the other, or open to any other ideas. Travel to Europe is not a problem, expense is not really an issue either. Any advice is much appreciated!

Go to a race? Get a pit lane pass to get closer? Some places do ride alongs in similar, decommissioned cars. At 10, why waste too much money on something he is too young to really remember and appreciate, is my thought, but if money is no object then go for it.

Thanks, looking for a more specific recommendation. Money is no object. Too young for a ridealong I'm sure, looking for a memorable experience - he's 10, not 4 lol. I remember plenty of my life when I was 10, and that was 36 years ago...

Just take him to a F1 race, make him a F1 bed, and buy him F1 toys.
You are way over thinking this.

Guys, not my kid, I have two girls and money is a huge object

A friend of my wife and I was just looking to do something special with her boy, she's not likely to go karting. Was more looking for "Hey this place has an amazing f1 museum, or hey this place does a really neat thing where you can meet a driver", etc. I'm not an F1 fanatic so I'm just not informed, appreciate the info though.

Montreal and Austin are the closest races. Montreal is usually in the spring/summer, Austin in the winter. I'd recommend your friend bring her kid to a race. I know I would have had a blast at one when I was 10.

I’ve done Nascar style events but they have Indy style open wheeled events too. A ride along would give him the best experience. He could also do a ride along in a sports car at Nurburgring for a warmup then go to Spa for a F1 race with a pit lane pass.

Take the kid to the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa (everyone's favorite track on the F1 calendar) and arrange a trip the Nürburgring (everyone's favorite track, period) in the days before or after. It's a 1h drive between the two tracks.

Sprinkle that with some karting action at Michael Schumacher's track (http://www.ms-kartcenter.de/) on the way.

As you said money wasn't an issue... how about 2 weeks in the UK,,, during school vacation.

I've liked the Williams F! team on facebook and they're always doing something at the factory for fans. They also have the heritage museum. I'd love to go there.

As you'd have to cross the pond anyway, combine this with the Goodwood festival of speed you're taking once in a lifetime kind of trip. This is July 12-15

https://www.goodwood.com/flagship-ev...ival-of-speed/

Then of course the British F1 at Silverstone July 8th

So show up for the F1 race,,,, during the week go visit Williams,,, then do Goodwood.

Lastly there are a number of F1 teams based in the UK,,, I would think that they have fan activities as well

BTW,,, if the boy doesn't want to go,,,, I can be available.

Montreal is a great venue. Lots of European atmosphere w/o leaving NA. I went the first time with GP Tours and was well pleased. Afterwards I was able to do it all myself. When Senna was killed I stopped following F1.

Last year Haas had a section and fan experience at COTA iirc. Got some swag, everyone sat at the same turn, etc.

If they like Haas might be cool to consider, though not sure if they will do it again.
