First UK Spec GT86 Delivered!

What an eventful couple of days I've had. I was invited to the Toyota launch party last thursday, and ended up winning an iPod Touch in a prize draw on the night! And that's not even the best part!

No, the best news was when my sales guy told me that Christmas had come early. My car -- a burnt orange, six speed -- would be ready the very next day, Friday! Wow! I was on cloud nine.

So Friday comes but I'm stuck at work. Some bugs in the live system need fixing before I can go home, but all I'm thinking about is my car, waiting and pining for me.

Eventually get to dealership and I spot her. The very first time I'd seen a burnt orange 86 in the real and I'm floored! It looks gorgeous. Totally different to hpw you imagined yet strangely familar. If white is sporty and athletic, red evocative of sexy lingerie, then burnt orange is like an elegant, smart, tailored suit. It's so sophisticated but it won't be to everyone's taste. I love it !

Signed all the dross paperwork, had my picture taken with the manager for their newsletter, waved, smiled...and I was off on my own! This car is amazing. It really is. It came with 7 miles on the clock but it was 105 by the time I'd finished with her a few hours later. I just kept finding excuses to drive and drive...and drive.

Some people have said that you can't have fun with this car on the road unless you drive illegally. This is untrue. You need to find a road with corners - lots of them - and just start flinging the car through 'em! It's also fun to drop down a gear and gas it from 2000rpm up to 4000. It makes a great noise, it has enough torque to make you smile but yet it will keep you within most speed limits.

I'm in love with my baby!

Whoa congrats brother! Im stoked 4 u! I've ordered orange myself, but never seen one in the steel, I like ur description of the colour, elegant, smart like a suit, I was a little wary that it'd give off the over the top vibe like 'oooh look at me, look at me!'

Mate, people will be looking! Ive had all kind of looks from blatant stares, jealous glances, double takes, triple takes! Haha all in one evening. This car is popular with the ladies, too! The best ones are from guys in sporty cars - they just try to race you

Congrats! I'm convinced that this car doesn't look bad in any color.

Congrats!:happy0180:Hot Lava (Burnt Orange) was my first color choice, but I ended up with my 2nd choice, Firestorm, since I could get it sooner. You can't just leave us with 1 picture! We need more!
