4th brake light question

I am driving a little ways to buy a valenti 4th brake light off a guy. Is there a quick way to test to make sure it works before I buy, besides installing it?

I was thinking touching the wires up to the battery, but I just wasn't sure if the brake lights ran off 12v or if there was something different in the circuitry in the car. Or which wires. From the pic there seems to be multiple wires. I haven't messed with the 4th BL yet so I'm not sure how it works.

Without reference I would think tapping them to the battery would work. It is 12v as what they should be getting when operated.

Yes, 12v direct from the battery will work with the proper polarity.

And also, Hachi is right, it's not Valenti, it's GCS. Worth at least half as much as Valenti

Yup, smoked GCS not a valenti.

Does it come with the rest of the wiring harness? Otherwise you will have to cannibalize your stock reverse harness and repin. All guides online for a new unit with the harness are already pretty bad, so it might be more trouble than it's worth.
