Newbie question OFT + Invidia Catless Equal Length Steel Header

Hi, I was wondering if the Open Flash Tablet would be compatible with the Invidia Catless Header. I was also wondering weather the Invidia catless header would bolt right onto the Toyota 86 without the need of anything else.

OFT and that header won't work. The header will require a mind boggling amount of custom work to fit properly.

I suggest a different brand of header if you can afford it. I believe you will be much happier with JDL, Tomei/Gruppe-S, or OFH.

The OFT doesn't care what brand header you use, but be aware that the 17 tunes are not finalized yet, AFAIK.

I see FT86SF catted which is nice, as well as gruppe-s and tomei. Lots of choices there other than the Invidia.

Ill look at the others, though im going catless. I can't be bothered with catted headers :P (in my Country having a full catless vehicle is 100% legal, as long as the car does not exceed a certain decibel rating)

Where did you come up with that? It is indeed illegal in Canada to remove cats or disable your emission control system in any way.

I don't know which province you are in but all have almost exactly the same wording as the Ontario law.

Catalytic Converters

(3) If a motor or motor vehicle is manufactured with a catalytic converter, no person shall alter or cause or permit the alteration of the motor or motor vehicle in a manner that permits exhaust emissions to bypass the catalytic converter. O. Reg. 86/99, s.*4.
(4) No person shall operate or cause or permit the operation of a motor or motor vehicle that was manufactured with a catalytic converter if the catalytic converter, or any replacement for the catalytic converter,
(a) is not capable of performing the function for which the catalytic converter was intended; or
(b) is disconnected, removed or otherwise altered so that it is not capable of performing the function for which the catalytic converter was intended. O. Reg. 86/99, s.*4.

You can face some heavy fines if caught.

I've beeen trying to find a similar article for Alberta, however I can't seem to find one. Most forums say that the catylic converter is not required. I could be wrong, however I can't find a article to prove me wrong yet (for my province)

It will probably be buried in an environmental law someplace not necessarily a car one. I wouldn't worry too much about it anyway since I doubt it is enforced by many cops. Just wanted to make sure you knew there was a law not so concerned that you followed it. Ontario has about the strictest and there are many, many, many uncatted cars driving around.

Hahaha, fair enough . I don't plan to make my car insanely loud, I just want it loud enough that I can hear a nice exhaust note (If its too loud I may get a exhaust control valve installed). I don't need my neighbors pissed off at me XD. The cops here usually don't stop cars for loud exhaust sounds, unless its insanely loud or neighbors complain.
