Suspension Setup?

Hey guys, im looking to upgrade my suspension and was wondering what would be best. I DD this car all year round(during winter) and I cant decide to go coilovers or springs and shocks. Going springs seems to be the more logical answer for me as i wont be tracking it and the car will mostly be for sitting pretty and look good while driving lol.. and coilovers might seem like to much of a hassle to deal with every winter and spring when i gotta change out me tires and touch it up every seaosn. What are your thoughts?

Based on your description, go for springs. No need to mess with coilovers.

i was thinking going TRD springs for a nice 1 inch drop since thats most i would go, what else would i need to go with them? or can i just slap on the springs, get an alignment and call it good? until the shocks wore out lol

I don't know if the TRD springs come with / require new bumpstops, but aside from that, just slap them on and get an alignment.

bumpstops may be required but not needed? would they hurt to just change out anyways? thanks for the info

LOL
Just poking.

Third option (hey I waited in line for this) is RSR Superdowns. Little more drop than the TRDs but still very daily drivable. You could use some spacers to bring the wheels out for a more flush look but I don't like spraying crap down the side of my car.

I have nothing done but the springs and at 100K miles (not kilometers) have had zero issues. That includes snowplowing time. They are about a 1.5 inch drop and that seems to be about the limit that you can go without camber bolts and LCAs. If I tracked it I would want more camber adjustment since it is maxed out but for my DD I am good with things.

They were already installed on the car by the dealer when I bought it but I seem to recall the price on my bill of sale being listed at around $350 just for the springs (I did not pay full price for the springs or exhaust). Should still be cheaper than TRD ones even at that though.

ah gotcha gotcha,im all for snowplowing time aha and mostly highway driving where the roads are plowed lots. the only issue i see is spring when its all melting and slush builds up on the roads . but if i can get away with just adding springs that would be great! i wouldnt mind upgrading shocks and new bumpstops and what not but ya know.

here they are at just under $300 CDN
