Am I missing a plug for this hole (photo)?

Am I missing a plug for this hole?

I don't remember this spot looking so empty before, and it has a socket-like look that makes me think it should be covered somehow.

I just got my car back from the shop after a repair for an armadillo encounter. The repair included work on the front bumper and drivers side front fender, including paint. Not sure why they would remove plugs from the trunk area, but there is this anomaly (see pic) on both sides of the trunk.

Does not look right.

Many thanks to anyone out there who can set me straight. If you can include a pic of how it looks with the plug installed, please do, so I can show that pic to the guys at the shop when I go in tomorrow.

Thanks all around.

That's the trunk, and a couple of bolts that help to hold on the rear bumper cover, eh? Now I'm really confused, since the work done on the car was all on the front end. Can one of you wiser heads think of a reason they would take off the rear bumper cover?

Pics of the original damage can be seen in the Scion vs Armadillo thread

To match the paint, since bumper paint is harder to match than what's on the sheet metal.

Some body shops do this.

Stopped by today and the tech put the bolts back in. Said he finished the job and had two bolts left over. Hard to believe he decided to give it back to me without figuring that one out.

I didn't get a chance to talk to the tech. The service guy kept me busy while the tech went out to the car and put the bolts back in, and I didn't bother to ask the service guy.
