Rev limiter using Drive-by-wire tables?

During a google search I stumped upon this video:

In the video at 5:20 he mentions the possibility to use Requested Torque Table to create a throttle cut rev limiter.

Does anyone have experience or opinion using this method?

Easy enough done, can be done in a multiple of ways. I use something similar to limit RPM on warmup.

Thanks, I missed your reply.

I suppose Ecutek uses ignition cut? Or a combination of retard and ignition cut?

EcuTek uses the OEM ROM but obviously you can do any manner of things, throttle/fuel/ignition/all 3.
