Track day guys, check this out.

A buddy of mine is starting a new venture, and I think a lot of folks here will be interested. He is definitely going to have the attention of several, as I think he is putting together a fantastic event, for a spectacular price. Check it out, and share it with your other car buddies. Thanks!

I'd guess NCM Motorsports Park in Kentucky, from the name.

Hey Apexer, this does sound promising for sure, especially for me since I live 90 min from NCM. Not knowing who the principals are, I'm curious why Open Track thinks most of the participants will hold racing licenses. Also have questions about the method of "an incident-free morning" transitioning to an open track afternoon. There's quite a gap between some drivers who have done 10 track days and race teams. Also a huge differential in race vehicles and daily drivers with pads and tires only. Would like to know more.

Sorry for the late response, I don't get here as much as I should.

I will pass this along to the principals involved. It may be a situation of wording. I will touch base today and let you know, thanks.

As a race and TT licensed instructor, my opinion is that you should REQUIRE participants to have a race or TT license of some sort. At a minimum, they need to be HPDE4 or equivalent, and even that would be sketchy. Someone who just got signed off to 4 shouldn't be on track with race cars.

No doubt true, but outside of NASA and SCCA (less relevant than it used to be, certainly) the HPDE industry is self-regulated and wide open. If you can rent the track and pay for liability insurance, you're in.
I'm seeing many stories in print from Road and Track mag and others about HPDE instructors bailing from the job because of the escalation of 400-600hp factory vehicles arriving on tracks with novice drivers. A group that's stating it has a plan to mix race teams with guys that just want to go fast without a stated education component seems a little nutty.
