Opinions on Federal 595s? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Has anybody ran these and could shine some light? Have a killer deal right now for 350$ shipped from a friend who is sponsored by them and just want to see if these would be worth it for daily driving.

I only researched them, so only conveying what I've surmised from other's reviews:
In short, they're decent dry summer tires, but has little to no traction in the wet.

I believe as a dedicated autoX or track tire, sure, but that's all I'd risk.

I think you may mean 959 RS-R. 595 are $60 tires, 959 are $100 "racing" tires from onlinetires.com, so I guess $350's an ok deal. Personally I'd rather give some Hankook Ventus R-S4s a shot at $143 per. I have a friend who loves the R-S3s for track tires, you can probably find those right now for less than the 4s on close-out

They're still 595. Just 595 RS-R (Now RSR-R)

The RSRR have good grip, but are quite loud. Fast wear too.

The normal SS595 are ok, but really just a cheap tire. Only reason I ever ran them was for the rears on previous drift cars.

595 is like Potenza, just a line of tires. The entry tire is also branded as 595 which is confusing, but whatever.

From low to high:
595
595Evo
595RPM
Evoluzion ST-1
595 RS-R
595 RS-RR

RS-RR are about on par with RS3/RS4 in terms of performance, about 10-20% cheaper but about the same increase in road noise.

Wet traction is fine but for a daily driver it will not be quiet on this car. On a car with more sound deadening it wouldn't make a huge difference.

As for the regular 595 tires, they are fine for daily, but considering the amount of people practically giving away factory Michelins, you're much better off getting those instead.

Edit: dealer cost for regular 595 are under $60 each. Are you sure he's sponsored by them?

I just bought a set of 595 RS-R so let my give you a quick review. I have them in 235/40/17

-They are definitely grippy, much grippier than the stock tires. Haven't tracked them yet but I can't wait to.
-They aren't too bad in the rain. I was hesitant on getting them since I was afraid they would be like driving on ice, but its not bad at all. Hit numerous puddles and didn't hydroplane or anything.
-They are LOUD. Really loud. It also doesn't help that they are really sticky so they throw lots of debris and tiny rocks at your fender. This is probably my biggest gripe with them, but then again this is a characteristic of any sticky tire.
-They run really wide. I have the 235s but they are on par with a 245 tire width.

They are definitely worth the price especially at $350.
