Exclamation Fuel pump issue? Please help!!!

Well, my aftermarket fuel pump died today. I stopped by the supermarket for a few minutes. When I tried to start my car upon leaving, the pump (Treadstone TRE265), started but quit mid-start. I checked the FP fuse, but it was good. I replaced it anyway, still no luck. So I picked up a Walbro 255lph fuel pump from PTuning, thinking it would work. It turns on but doesn't seem to be sending any fuel. I tried hooking to pump up out of the fuel tank just to make sure it was powering up and it did, and shot a little fuel into my car, lol. So I'm kinda stuck at the moment. I looked at Walbro's website and it said some FRS's may need to be converted to a return style fuel system for the pump to work. So this leads me to wonder if the Walbro pump isn't compatible with our cars? If not, does anyone know where I can get one in the NOVA/MD area that will work with our car?

One thing I didn't do yet was prime the pump. Is it necessary to hook up a hose to the outlet tube to make sure to get all the air out?

By looking at the pump picture, it doesn't look any different than any other in tank pump. I vote for some type of issue with the installation. A lot of these 200ish size aftermarket pumps need more rubber washers some three or four) in oder to be pressure sealed and send the gas to the motor, if not the gas actually leaks back into the tank. Lookup installation video of DW pump on our cars and see if you followed it properly. Also sometimes closing the canister you may route the hoses wrong and pinch one unintentionally.

That's always a possibility. I took it apart 3 times trying to get it to work. Initially I had 4 o rings on it. I tried it with no luck, so I took one off. The Walbro seems to be a little longer, so not sure if that's part of thd problem. I'll pull it out and take a pic to show the differences, but I think the Walbro has a couple of holes on the top.

Here's a pic of the 2 fuel pumps. The Treadstone fuel pump is on the top and the Walbro fuel pump is on the bottom. Note the Walbro is about 1 cm longer. Think this could be the issue?

Well, I took it apart again, added the 4th o ring back on, reassembled, and it works!
