Waiting periods at Different dealerships

Hey guys, I'm finally going to place down my order for my 86 this weekend after what has felt like a eternity due to financial reasons, but I want to know if your waiting period would be a affected from a dealership with more orders as to a dealership with less total orders orders.

Im not sure of this has already been discussed, but I'm not sure how this ordering systems works.... To go with Sydney City Toyota (which i know has heaps of orders) or another one such as Chatswood or Sutherland? Difference or No Difference?

My car is a Orange GTS Manual.
cheers

The more orders the dealer has the longer you will wait.

The easiest thing to do is call a few dealers. Get it straight from them. If you aren't too picky on colour you might be able to get one sooner than i you are picky as well. The popular colours, like white, may have a longer wait than the not so popular colours like orange.

Wait times are now more about what grade/spec/colour than dealer. With initial allocations, yes, the dealer chosen would make a difference.
Unfortunately an Orange GTS Manual is the one with the longest wait (this build spec is the one the customer letter is about). Please don't be surprised when any dealer tells you 18 months ...

The dealer you choose makes a massive difference. The amount of cars a dealer gets has nothing to do with how many orders they have taken. There are dealers in Melbourne taking around 10 orders every week at the moment and are likely to get approx 2 cars a month. you do the math!!!

If you want ANY spec of 86, as you say, dealer is important.
If you specifically want an Orange GTS Manual, the wait is now over 18 months (source: Scott Thompson [TMCA Divisional Manager, National Marketing], today). Dealer makes less difference in this specific case.

hmmm, in this case i AM being picky with the colour, spec and transmission. I am really hoping that after placing my order this weekend that it will come by January and it won't be that hefty 18 month wait.
To me it doesn't add up to have 18 months here in Syd in relation to everyone else's orders here... :/

The smaller the dealer the better chance of getting one early. If you are really keen there is a blue and a silver GT MT at Pacific Toyota, Cairns.

I'm from Sydney and I ordered one manual GTS in Tornado Grey two weeks ago. Dealer called up after the bulletin release and told me wait would be at least till June of next year up to 18 months. All it says on my tracking app is that the order is still and pending everything else.

As a result I'm looking at grabbing the GT (2-4 month wait, Feb next year at the worst) and using aftermarket parts to spruce it up.

That's the exact same spec that I got Billy and my dealer told me yesterday that it was unconfirmed for production for october delivery in november. it will probably be confirmed approximately a month before it is scheduled for production he says.

I ordered mine on the 23 June at Parramatta (Terry Shields) btw.

And from what I hear, GTS are 2years+ wait and GT are like 3-6months, maybe even more. In fact, my dealer aren't even selling GTS anymore, its simply not worth their time they say.

wow, this makes me feel real horrible for not ordering one earlier now.... I'm still going to follow through with my order and HOPE to god someone drops out and i get it heaps earlier than June, to help with that a little i guess i'll hit up a smaller dealership too..
