Question How much did you spend on the Subaru Gold Plus 7 year 100,000 mile warranty?

Attempting to figure out a good rate. I recognize I live in one of the most expensive places in the country. HOwever, I still am curious.

I am being offered a high price for the 7 years 100,000, and only like $500 for the tire and wheel on the BRZ PP.

I am being given a way lower than my 691 Transunion FICO 4 auto-enhanced would dictate (Chase only pulled Transunion for me). 2.20%

That is sick good for that credit.
BUT, i am being hit in the nuts with the warranty. I cannot exactly tell from afar (I am at my office atm) what the price of it is, but I am guessing $2000. I know that is high for some. Remember though: this will be my mechanic and service station. I value giving a little pad to the place, i did that with Mini/bmw long ago and always got sick service. Free everything all because I paid about $800 more than others do for the car as built.

So, let her rip ladies and boys!

I got it for 2k. Let me tell you why it was a total waste. first of all the dealership will try to blame everything on you and any aftermarket parts you may have installed. I tried 3 different dealerships and they blamed it on something that i had done to car. Let me give you an example. My car is an AT and when in manual mode i couldn't shift up using the shifter but I could using the paddle shifters. It was obvious that it was the gear switch but they tried to blame it on footwell lights i had installed and wired to the traction button for illumination. Another time I kept on getting service engine soon which was related to the coil packs. they tried to blame it on a lot of wires being under my dashboard lol. They were footwell light wires/ speaker wires etc.. at that point I was like F this!!! they will try to deny warranty work on most things. Yes, the law is that they will have to prove that your modification led to the car/part failing but good luck trying to argue with them. you can get a lawyer but at that point your wasting time and money on something that can be easily fixed with less effort. The car comes with 5year/60k power train which is more than enough. All the other parts are fairly cheap to get. spend that 2k on a new set of tire and wheels. Don't want anyone else wasting money on dealership scams

I'm only familiar with voiding warranties, not buying them.

I paid zero. Because I will never use anything besides what comes with the car.

Personally I would never buy some wheel and tire replacement either.

I hate to be a party pooper, but the law does not state that they have to prove the modification impacts the part it is in concert with. This is the BIGGEST myth going on the internet for a LONG TIME. I have to fish out the real law about it, and it is not at all a pretty law. Basically, modify it aside from disposable parts and it voids warranty. Like aftermarket oil filters, air filters, those things. Actually impacting the electrical system would be voiding of warranty. Now, if you bought a Mini Cooper, they would not deny the warranty. The actually have recommendations for mod places. It is a Subaru psychotic level of paranoia thing from what I gather reading this for half a year. In terms of Justice, you probably have a case. But Platonic ethics aside, they will screw us bad.

I have no idea what to do with your feelings and thoughts as I would never modify it. THree dealers is a lot of dealers. I dont know what to make of it.

Just to give you an example getting a cat back exhaust shouldn't void your warranty if your car starts burning oil or your coil packs go out. My issue with my footwell lights were solved once i gave Subaru a call and they said it has no effect on why my car wasn't shifting. After reading up on how many people were screwed over for a spun rod bearing failure (all stock) i just said screw the warranty and went FI. should have saved the 2k and put it towards something else lol

DON'T BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY! Also for that matter the wheel and window warranties are crap and are a HUGE hassle. It is better to just buy a new tire through discount tire and get their road hazard warranty. The only thing worth getting at time of purchase is GAP insurance; which you should always do.

If you end up keeping the car beyond the factory warranty you can always buy the exact same plan for the exact same price 1 mile or 1 second before the factory warranty ends. Another option is to sell the car to the dealership and buy it back as a certified by refinancing the car through Subaru... This is not a perfect setup but I have done it before with a BMW and didn't spend a single cent. I traded the car in on it's self, refinancing through BMW (Chase at the time) for the exact same rate with the exact same time as I had left on my loan and even ended up paying something like 40 or 50 bucks cheaper in monthly.
