How much is my BRZ worth?
So, after my car has given me so many headaches in these early months of ownership, I am actually contemplating on selling the car. From your perspectives, how much money should I be prepared to lose with the car having ~6k miles and had warranty work done on it? It's a 2017 brz limited no PP and I paid 30k OTD for it. Also have a front bumper clear bra and full car Ceramic coating if that adds any value at all..
Oh and, how much are you guys getting the 2017 with PP for OTD? Thanks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Sorry to hear you're had so many problems with your BRZ. Can't help you with value but I can answer your second question.
My 2017 with PP was $29,439 before sales tax and title. It also included Subaru's "Popular Package #3". Dave |

Unless there is more than posted here "all the headaches" consists of a single CEL which the dealer has already said they will fix. Most of your issue seems to be you simply not letting them. In fact I am not even sure from your other thread if you even threw the CEL more than once. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115951
You will take a shit kicking on selling now and the extras add exactly zero value to the car. Just figure out a way to get the car into the dealer and let them do the warranty work it requires and all will be fine.

^ Agreed.
But I paid 27,795 for 2017 BRZ with PP and nothing extra. OTD costs changed because I had an Ambassador coupon and the full STI lip kit but I still kept it around $30k |

Would honestly be surprised if you get over $25k for it.

I would think 25K at most. Probably a little less.

You think dealers don't lose money on cars some times? They have snakes as well. The difference is that if they hit too many snakes they lose their business, jobs and possibly their life savings. The consumer is out a few thousand and a couple of hours of time.

They take a lot of shit from people for no reason other than the fact they sell cars.
Every joker on here wants to pay bottom dollar when buying and get top when selling but when a dealer does the exact same thing they are called names and get hated on. Does anybody here go to work everyday and have to negotiate with their boss and costumers on how much they make that shift? "Hey JD I know you have loads of work today but I would like you to spend a couple of hours talking to people for free. Then when it is time to pay you I would like you to accept 20% less pay since you cost a lot and I don't think it is fair" Car dealers are businesses not freakin' charities and I just can not understand how people don't get that. Sure cars are expensive but the dealer and especially the sales guys don't make huge dollars.

You and I go to work to do our damnedest to deliver the best for our clients however I have never had a straight talking dealer who will step down and do a deal that works for all especially when a part ex is involved. I'm not into screwing over dealers but value a positive experience where the dealer is not acting the twat! All too often you get someone who just plays games! I don't want to spends hours in a car showroom, I want a fair deal.. |

I look at the whole car-buying experience as a game. I'm trying to get the best deal for myself, and the dealership wants to make money. It's nothing personal on either side, and we're just negotiating hard. I'd figure most men should understand this concept, kinda like how you can fight hard in a sporting event, and then shake hands and be cool when the game ends. I try to figure out how much a dealership can expect to typically make on the vehicle, and then create my absolute highest offer that I'll accept, and keep it in mind. Then I put the screws to them to see just how far I can go and just see how well that goes. If the dealer is having a bad month, OR if they're in a situation where they have to move a certain volume, you have leverage. If you are somehow in desperate need/want for a car, then they have leverage. What I don't appreciate, is a dealer outright lying, or not honoring the terms of the deal. Otherwise, hey I know I actually got a crap deal a while back because I really needed to make the deal sooner rather than later, but I just feel like "ohhhh you guys got me back then, nice job" instead of "OMG evil piece of crap dealer!" They've been cool since then anyway, so why have a problem with them? |

To say all dealers are out to play games and screw you over is not realistic and just stereotyping. Just because you can't get what you want doesn't mean they are not doing a square deal. Some people have some very unrealistic expectations when buying/selling cars.
