OpenFlash Manager Connection Issue

I just got an OFT and have Read the Stock File from my 2012 86 GTS.
Unfortunately the Write button was still greyed out so I assume that I need to install the OTS Tunes onto it first.
I went to the OpenFlashTablet website, downloaded the latest version of OFM (ver 1.27) and installed it on my Win7 computer in the default location.

When I have plugged my OFT in using the provided cable, the tablet lights up with the little grey picture of the OFT on the screen, however OFM just sits there throwing an infinite number of "Connecting to Device..." messages.

I have tried reinstalling, using different USB ports, I have tested the cable on other devices, restarting the computer, and tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

Oddly enough, the install file is called OFM 1.27, however when I install it says installing OFM 1.0.
Once installed, the program does correctly display Openflash Manager 1.27.0 up the top however...

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue, it would only connect 1 out of 10 times, turned out the USB cable was faulty.

Turned out it was my computer. I had just reloaded all the drivers and the USB was sending power through but not data.
